Before the FIFA World Cup 2026, News Café faced the question every venue in Vienna asks itself: dozens of places show the matches on a big screen. So why come here? Paid advertising would have bought reach without giving anyone a reason. So I built a campaign that does not advertise the venue but talks to the fans directly: four influencers, each assigned to a different national team, each with a script written for that team's supporters.
Every script was cut to the expectations and the humour of one fan group. That turned an interchangeable promo clip into content that feels personal. Concept, direction, camera, editing and colour grading were all mine, as was coordinating the four creators.
The first three videos reached 200,000 views on TikTok and Instagram within three days. By 12 July 2026 the campaign as a whole had reached 700,000 views, without a single cent of ad budget.
News Café now owns ten videos and the proof that reach in hospitality does not have to be bought when the content fits the audience.
