Every district has a face.
Every face has a feeling.
"Wien in 23 Emotionen" is an ongoing personal project that assigns an emotion to every Viennese district, from Loneliness in the first to Silence in the thirteenth. Vienna is filmed constantly, but almost always as a postcard — from the outside and from above. The other question interested me more: how does the city feel when you stand still in one place instead of walking through it.
Every episode is a 50-second short film built from slow-motion images, voiceover and a documentary visual language. I shot it over several months across the whole city, on the Sony FX6 with anamorphic cinema lenses, so the districts don't look like locations but like moods. The series is deliberately cut to work in the feed: short enough not to be swiped away, calm enough to stay with you. Anyone who lives in Vienna recognises their district straight away, and the reach comes out of that recognition, not out of the algorithm.
